One has to wonder when California decides it’s time to call it quits from this sinking ship!

US population has started its decline about 50 years earlier than expected!

Trump is about to explode the debt and start a war with Europe!

At some point we have to stop giving respect to disgusting people.

We are being told to deny reality to protect terrible people.

Enough is enough.

I’m utterly sick of it.

Absolutely, it is well known that drivers proceed at the perceived safe speed, not the posted speed limit. Our stroads look fast enough for 60 not 30.
Aren't there lots ot structural road changes that have been proven to reduce speeding? I feel like that sort of thing would be more effective than a focus on enforcement. Just on a basic human behavior level

Despite the SCOTUS displaying blatant partisanship and casual disregard of precedent, the Democrats, if/when they regain power, will do nothing about it and will allow the SCOTUS to hamstring them at any and every opportunity.

I can think of at least seven ways fossil fuel producers could wiggle out of this, but still: holy shit this is huge.

If it’s New York, Staten Island!
headed to the US for work next week so once again playing a game of "where can I go in the state I'm writing about if I want to be in a GOP area but cannot drive or expense cabs" (I do not like the game it's a bad game)

Real time data coming out of the world’s climate measurement systems should be stopping us in our tracks. The latest estimate shows that, this week, the Earth is 1.9°C warmer than before we began burning fossil fuels.

Let’s see how the military branches are doing on war crimes?

US Army? Tortured people at Abu Ghraib and shot innocent people for fun in Iraq.

US Air Force? Slaughtered wedding parties and others via indiscriminate drone attacks.

US Navy? Now murdering people in the Caribbean.

Fucking hell.

Here’s what Disney should have done: Told its affiliates to hold off on the merger during this period of political chaos. There is no urgency and it opens them up for manipulation.

Everyone should business plans on pause until this chaos ends.

I really don’t think anyone outside of the USA understands how absolutely sick of gun violence so many of us are.

And how absolutely exhausted we are knowing that *nothing* will be done to curtail it.

All this lamentation over a monster and nothing will change for the innocents killed today and on

Twat who played with fire by dry humping the 2nd Amendment, and stirring up a race war, was shot and killed today.

Americas politicians feigned outrage but will do nothing meaningful to reign in the insane gun culture that is literally killing citizens every, single, day.

It’s a bit much to feel degraded by the actions of at least one branch of the US Government every day.

Are there really no Republicans left that have any loyalty to their flag and the ideals for which it stands?

A couple of defections to independence in the Senate could change everything.

“conservative southern wing” has to be the understatement of the fucking year!
serious question. does no one know anything anymore? you're saying the people you hate on bluesky are of the same type as the ones that produced the democratic wipeouts in the 1980s? you know, when the democratic party still had a conservative southern wing and strong support from white ethnics?

My pet theory: it comes from Don Quixote. It features a donkey.

[breaking the ice] "Ever counted how many people you once admired are now infamous assholes?"

Hey is it bad if google AI search results stop people from leaving google dot com 99% of the time? All our news and information creators can survive just fine with one percent of their previous search traffic right? I’m sure it’s fine. www.404media.co/googles-ai-i...

Today (much too late!) I realized that our democracies are really thought experiments. In that, we actually have to believe in them for them to be real.

As soon as we stop standing up for their rules and principles, we lose them.

They are not a given fact.
