The set design is somehow only the second-most over-the-top thing in this scene, after Steven Berkoff.

It's me, your friend who was too into comics growing up.
YOU: what if his name was penis parker and he shot web by jacking his dick lol
YOUR FRIEND WHO WAS TOO INTO COMICS GROWING UP: They actually did that as a whole arc in the late 80s. Wasn't Conway's best work.

A connection I never made before: Oliver Stone directed and co-wrote The Hand, in which Michael Caine plays the creator of Conan-like barbarian Mandro, and a year later he co-wrote the first Conan the Barbarian movie.
I'm probably getting the wrong message from The Hand.
The message I'm getting is that if you're an artist never talk to someone else about artistic integrity.
Very few people understand it.

Belatedly got around to reading VENOM: BLACK WHITE AND BLOOD #2, and @thekarlapacheco.bsky.social and Pere Perez created a wonderful late-‘90s throwback to Larry Hama’s hoo-ha-ing secret agent Venom. It’s a blast.

If there is one thing Disney is doing right it’s that they are keeping the WHAT ABOUT BOB? (1991) hand puppets preserved in their archives.

Ah, this is a bummer. I got "wrapping things up" vibes from last week's issue, but it's still a bit of a shock to get it confirmed.

I loved how this series leaned heavily into the youth of today while still tossing in some wild continuity deep pulls for weirdos like me. (1/2)
Thank you all so much.

Aw, RIP. A long life and a storied career. From all I've ever seen of him and his work, the man was definitely the sorta fella you'd fondly describe as "a real character."

This is how I found out that apparently the reality show Big Brother, which I have never seen, periodically features a guy in a robot costume who insults the contestants.
Hey @officialsuper7.bsky.social, this one seems like a layup for Reaction. So, when?

A producer told me once she has to warn young crewmembers to avoid being alone with Aykroyd. "Not because he's a creep, he's a gentleman. But if you let him strike up a conversation the next thing we know all the PAs will be huddled in his dressing room learning how humans evolved from dolphins."
I love Dan Aykroyd because he has very clearly entered the stage in his life where he is going to make sure everyone knows about his special interests and he has the profile and resources to do it in a high profile manner. You are GOING to hear about rocks, dinosaurs, vodka, and ghosts dammit.
