After some discussion with Jene, I'm finally posting a Gofundme to help us with Sandwiches' vet bills. Our baby has been having more bad days lately so we have to start thinking about at-home euthanasia. Any help would be greatly appreciated: www.gofundme.com/f/help-us-pa...

About to check out REFLECTION IN A DEAD DIAMOND. Anybody like that trilogy of recent Italian Diabolik movies? More like the comics, I guess? I see at least one of them is on Kanopy...

My sister Daphne sang part of this song to her son the other day and it activated me like I was the Manchurian Candidate, so I must now apologize pre-emptively to anyone whom I kill or have killed while in a SESAME STREET-induced fugue state.

Catching up with Lucile Hadzihalilovic’s THE ICE TOWER, which is so far her best since EVOLUTION.

My @ebertvoices.bsky.social review of the so-so EARWIG here: www.rogerebert.com/reviews/earw...

And my Ebert review of the astounding EVOLUTION: www.rogerebert.com/reviews/evol...

Some kid at the law library kept making weird insinuating compliments about my Sleestak hat, saying it was very “hip.” Then, after I clearly didn’t get what he was trying to say, he asked me if I was into NFTs. Sir, get out of my library.

MONGO’S BACK IN TOWN is a delightfully overboiled noir divided between two seedy subplots: Telly Savalas demanding that young Martin Sheen respect his street cred and Joe Don Baker forcing himself on young Sally Field. Tough, dumb, fun.
I switched to the 1971 made for tv Telly Savalas picture MONGO’S BACK IN TOWN, and Joe Don Baker is so far all over this establishing scene and there are Christmas decorations and ok yes I will try this one

Tried watching the 1979 made for tv movie SKINFLINT: A COUNTRY CHRISTMAS Carol. Then, after 25 minutes, I stopped trying.

not the point, but the “opinion” label made me laugh, like tomorrow they’re gonna have “quentin tarantino: rob reiner was *not* martin scorsese’s friend”
I've seen this going around today and it's beautiful, so here's a gift link.

My sister printed and framed some photos of Sandwiches for me. I’m crying, I’m so moved. (And they even have little adhesive sticky pads to hang them on the wall)

And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, found himself transformed in his bed into a monstrous vermin.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, swooned slowly as he heard the snow falling faintly through the universe and faintly falling, like the descent of their last end, upon all the living and the dead.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, crawled through a river of shit and came out clean on the other side.
