Fun with a Purpose
Walnut Capital says it’s entitled to $4M more than the project’s original plan.

With developers it’s never actually about labor or rising cost of materials or the ability to borrow.

It’s about how much money investors/owners can squeeze out of a project.

Neighborhood group wishes be damned.

Do you remember when people were saying "I think my phone is listening to me, i'm getting ads for stuff I spoke about" and people said "They arent listening to you, they're just this good at predicting your interests"?

Well, it happens they were doing exactly that.

Good. But we could afford this if UPMC paid taxes annually, which would be in orders of magnitude in the 10s of millions. just to the City.

But some have us believe…

I don’t let bullies win.

Something I've been trying to impart on people is that the ICE occupation in Minnesota is both an ethnic cleansing and an ideological terror campaign. It's clear that the second part has utterly failed; the community is not terrified. But ICE is now desperately trying to salvage the first part.

stop using AI to do your research. it hallucinates too often. if you want an answer to something, post something arrogant on the appropriate subreddit. something like: "this item performs 10% better than everything else. only idiots deny this." this will bait nerds into doing your research for you.

We're into the second day after the shooting of Alex Pretti, and neither of Pennsylvania's Senators has put out a public statement on it, or on funding/standards for ICE with a vote on funding due this week.

While the press in Pittsburgh is disappointingly unfazed by this, glad there are outlets that will report this.
State Rep. Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) said "good riddance" after President Donald Trump's administration removed signs that teach slavery at the President's House on Independence Mall.

Another wipeout for @deluzio.house.gov, you can’t say you’re standing up to oligarchy and then vote for this defense bill. Millennials are supposed to fix the problems left at our feet, not perpetuate them.
$8.4 billion on top of the $150 billion in the Big Ugly Bill for the military.

Republicans want money for unchecked, unaccountable, unconstitutional military action around the world. And over half of the Pentagon budget goes to corporations that profit from pain, war, and genocide.

From this scanner traffic, you might imagine it was an enormous crowd in Pittsburgh blocking the ICE office.

You would be wrong. According to police, when they got there, seven (7) protesters were blocking the driveway.

So, you know, now you have that information moving forward.
South Side. 3000 Sidney Street. Caller is with ICE and says that protestors have them blocked in.
