As important: Status BBC in the US

[In the US, where it recently notched up monthly viewing figures of 77m, it is now the second most trusted news source—just behind the Weather Channel.]

It’s become the channel with a status for fact (double) check, seen as possibly least/unbiased, 9 months ago.

For all the panic right now, I doubt the Dems will be blamed for the collapse of ACA over the next few months.

But Schumer and anyone else seen as a squish will be putsched out of power by an enraged Dem party base that wants to fight rather than talk.

In September, we had an event where we brought in nine international participants. Out of nine total, one was detained in a back room without explanation. I don’t think people here realize what a dice roll it is, but people outside the U.S. certainly do
I have had other colleagues from Europe tell me they simply will not attend conferences in the US for the foreseeable future because they no longer feel welcome. They have seen the stories of travelers detained and don't want to hand their social media over to the current administration for approval

Poor people going hungry, that's a shame, but affluent people being unable to travel by the most unsustainable way possible, now that's the political emergency to force compromise.
It’s a loss of leverage but if I were Dems I’d offer a stopgap “fund air traffic and fund snap” bill
"We have loss of separation in the airspace. Those numbers are going up. More ground incursions. I have more complaints coming into the FAA from pilots who are saying that air traffic controllers are not as responsive. They seem stressed or they're not using the appropriate language..."

Along with the meatpacking rant, further evidence Trump has clocked the cost-of-living issue but has no idea what to do about it. I guess cutting tariffs is out of the question.

(NB I reckon that despite tariffs, inflationary risks from services are probably bigger than those from goods.)
