If the UCP is confident on the medical merits of its transgender bill, then we should hear from the CMOH on this ASAP to validate the urgency of using the notwithstanding clause, it's why you have a top doctor after all.

Is that like "illegal laws"?

Passing laws that violate our rights?
It’s worth remembering that the UCP aren’t just robbing Albertans of their charter rights…

Amery openly conceded that these laws also violate the Alberta Human Rights Act and the Alberta Bill of Rights.

That the UCP just rewrote.

On CBC hourly news they used the word “airborne”… to describe the TB outbreak in Edmonton.

But Public Health is saying not to worry because it takes 100+ hours to catch it.

Which I guess is fine, unless you work in a community centre or shopping centre or library.

I've lived with a 2-tier healthcare system in the UK

The private system steals doctors from the public system causing wait times to get longer

Alberta already has a doctor shortage, imagine how bad it would be if a significant portion of them left to work privately

#ableg #abpoli

The UCP’s plan to tackle wait times by introducing private pay in our health-care system is a step backward.
✅ It worsens access
✅ It widens inequity
✅ It jeopardizes quality & health outcomes

This has been tried before, & makes wait-times worse.
Opinion: Private-pay medical testing is no solution to wait times
We urge Alberta’s policymakers to resist the false temptation of paying for private access as a “solution” to wait lists.
