I'm so thankful that Liam is back home. Sick to my stomach that there are so many others we don't know about still locked away. END ICE. End the occupation. End the kidnappings!

Thank you to @comixaction.com for starting this #Comics4Liam campaign. Check out comics4liam.com

Marina Mabrey just casually drained SEVEN 3-pointers in the first quarter.

She has 27 total points after 1.

Younger kid's whole middle school walked out today in solidarity with Minnesota. Apparently there were 13 year olds getting up and making impromptu speeches. They didn't prep a chant in advance, so they settled on "F*ck ICE"

It's near-white out conditions in Chicago as the snow comes down, and tonight's anti-ICE/CBP rally is wrapping up in front of city hall.

But not before the crowd bounces and chants, "I believe that we will win!"

Yes, what we saw in Minneapolis today is evidence of a fascist regime.

What we saw in Minneapolis yesterday, and right now—1000s of Americans peacefully protesting that regime—indicates that American society, culture, values, are not tainted by fascism. We reject it and always will.

Crazy that the party that spent 45 years telling Americans that their government was their enemy are the ones who finally made it come true.

Facts.
If the democrats do not unite over this uncontrollable militarized white supremacy slave squad terrorizing our cities, we must primary every single one of them. It doesn’t get any clearer than this.

We are being invaded by an anti democratic force of fascist thugs trampling our constitution.

One good incentive to get your more apolitical friends to a rally or protest is that they'll see now normal it is and how many lies the government tells about protestors in general.

Everybody talks about wanting to change things and help and fix, but ultimately all you can do is fix yourself. And that's a lot. Because if you can fix yourself, it has a ripple effect.

The WNBA has the most educated pro athletes in the entire world and somehow the MNBA Engleberts think they can just lowball them and get what they want.

Absolute nonsense. They're the last ones to understand that the WNBPA is much smarter and educated than their rich asses.

far too many media orgs have been slow to learn that in the age of social media the headline IS the story
"Never spread the lie in the headline" should be a hard rule of 21st century journalism.

Research shows that repeating lies helps to spread them, and people read headlines more than they read stories.
News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."

Ruby Bridges is 71. Emmett Till would have been 70.

The Civil Rights Act is only 61 years old. Loving is 58.

Less than a generation ago.
there are quite a few white folks who vividly recall and rather miss Jim Crow alive and voting in this country right now
I honestly don’t see how anyone can see it any other way if they are honest. Jim Crow was only ~60 years ago! Are we really pretending that the insane racism just suddenly disappeared? This is to say nothing of the hundreds of examples we all have of seeing casual racism in everyday life
