Yeah I've heard this bullshit before. Indies have to always wrap up their subversive ideas in thick layers of familiarity and simplicity.
People choose indie BC:
1. It looks nicer than realistic graphics.
2. The game mechanics, movement and the world map feel easier to learn.
3. They're chraper

I'll never understand why GF keeps hyping up Pikachu with the generational gimmicks, which are never enough to make it a competitive pokemon, instead of just editing its stats. You have to just switch a few numbers!
