Also, shout out to Maltese (which derivated from Siculo-Arabic for those who might not now) that sometimes uses broken plurals for Romance (well, Italian and Sicilian mostly from what I've seen) loanwords, which I also find incredibly cool

"inclusion" means we're still seen as an external element after all
The cultural changes needed to a genuine integration in society are something immense to say the least, and in this day and age, one step forward always means ten steps backwards so I'm not too optimistic

The liberal approach to queer rights is well intentioned, their heart is in the right place, but I'm totally convinced that it's a dead end, even in places where there's complete legal equality, queerphobia is still pervasive, we are SO incredibly far from actual liberation

I always complain about the harships of adult life, but being a grownup has its advantages, like being able to do this, if someone treats you like shit or doesn't love and respect you for who you are, you can simply cut them out from your life and no one can do shit about it
I feel so much better since I stopped talking for good to some close family members.
Does that make me a bad person? I don't really think so, I don't think other people owe my attention or company just because we're related by blood

I'm on the verge of a depressive episode again I think
The past few days have been a constant stream of high and lows when it comes to my mental state

Hydargos is Grendizer's most powerful man.
Zuril is an objectively better villain than him under every abspect and Gandal is much more interesting but still if you ask a Grendizer fan who's their favorite villain a good part of them will say say "Hyra... Hy... The one with the big ears"

This should've been the Hacker International version of Silent Assault
It's genuinely impressive how this title manages to straddle the exact line between "middling NES action game you would've found at K-Mart in 1988" and "irredeemable NES bootleg you would've found at your local adult bookstore next to Bubble Bath Babes."

The other day I was thinking about how in Arabic, the word "film" got integrated into the root system of Semitic languages (F - L -M) which means it got the broken plural أفلام (aflam) as if it were a native word, and it's the coolest thing ever, I love languages sm

I enjoy the occasional brutal review and this absolutely delivered
but I do have a note: Milanesa, described as "a brawny veal steak that has been, to no discernible purpose, breaded and fried," is a Milanese steak, on the menu due to Italian immigrant cuisine in South America

It feels inelegant to say you should read my latest review because it’s very negative. You should read my latest review because it’s insane. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...
La Boca Is All Smoke, No Fire
The Argentinean chef Francis Mallmann is notorious for his love of cooking over open flames. With his New York début, he fizzles out.
