This has been my pinned tweet for years but it's as true here as it was there: the highlight of my #gamedev career to date was this spectacular bug from #StarWarsBattlefront Elite Squadron on the #PSP.

Owls in Towels: exactly what it says on the tin.
Great Horned Owl tangled in a soccer net. No fractures but heavy swelling in soft tissues due to struggling. Congress of the Birds advises "Taking nets down when not in use can prevent these injuries." Want to donate? www.congressofthebirds.org Source: fb.com/102301306190... #owlsintowels 💛🦉

Completed the main story again. Contemplating playing through the DLCs. Mainly I just want to look at how pretty it is.
I'm now playing through Control again. So damn addictive.
In the end I installed Control again because it has ray tracing? I think?

Grinding against the wall in Chase HQ on my Amstrad blew my mind back in the day. Such a flex.
Once upon a time it was extremely exciting to go through tunnels in racing games, especially if the sound changed.

The cybertruck lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, spinning its wheels trying to turn itself over, but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping.
joining the "cybertruck owners only" group on fb is one of the best decisions i've ever made. every so often when i'm scrolling through fb getting pissed off, i get to see a little treat like this

Got the kids to unwrap it as it's 'for the family' (😉) and they basically re-enacted the 'Nintendo 64!!' meme.
Happy Christmas to me specifically.

2 years ago today I posted this miniature Home Alone shot I created practically using foil for the flame with an orange light reflecting from it, real figures & miniature sets. I digitally added the flames blue glow.

I moved the light a touch on the raw shot so you can see how the light reflects...

Really cool technique.
Our upcoming game The Hearth and Harbour is fully 2D, but with some neat tricks we’ve made it look 3D. Ethan, our environment artist, did this with a special type of texture called a Normal Map. (Thread! 1/7)

So far so good. Most things I've wanted to do have worked fine - helps that I've used LibreOffice, Gimp, etc. for years now. The lack of a Google Drive app is annoying but I'm increasingly trying to get away from the big G anyway. For one, evil, but also the whole "single point of failure" thing.
Well, I've finally done it - I'm attempting to use Linux Mint as my daily driver. We'll see how far I get. I've used it on my laptop for a while now and it's been final for occasional use but this will be the clincher. I've only had to google a few things so far...
