Just watched the episode where Bajor, in the midst of a famine, denies the immigration request from 3 million refugee Gamma Quadrant farmers who are adamant they can make the large abandoned "unfarmable" region thrive again. I can't say that I agree with the Ministers that this was a wise decision…
Been watching DS9, and it's reminded me how much I fucking hate Winn Adami.
I guess the writers and Louise Fletcher deserve praise for doing what was clearly an excellent job with the character ;)

Unlike when I changed the background to the bi flag a couple of Prides ago, no one's complained about my Christmas avatar this year stopping them realising it's me, so I think I succeeded in making it sufficiently unobtrusive ;)

All of the money that goes into the benefit system is spent by the people that receive it so it actually boosts the economy. The money given to billionaires is hoarded often outside of the country.

since the "google is now training gemini on your email contents" thing keeps bumping around here: it's _not happening_. I say this not to defend google but because I know a lot of people that have broken their filtering and made their lives much more annoying from sheer misinformation.
