Thoughts and ramblings of a former singer songwriter.

I’m a Beatles fan. I support Manchester United. I hate bigots of all kinds.

I’m a Socialist. If you think Thatcher ruined something statistically you’ve a 99% chance of being right.

I follow back.

This seems like a hundred years ago now. A part of my life I enjoyed until I didn’t.

For so many years the rightwing UK media, especially the Murdoch press, has gaslit us that the BBC is leftwing.

They think we are idiots and we haven’t noticed stuff like the relentless platforming of Farage.

So New York billionaires are going to flock to UK to escape wealth tax, says The Times despite The Times saying repeatedly that billionaires are fleeing Britain to escape wealth tax. It’s almost like they’re just making this shite up! 🤡 www.thetimes.com/uk/london/ar...

Failed and discredited in the view of most of the population and yet they keep finding new ways to influence. It’s infuriating.
The 7:30am headlines this morning on the BBC, reporting on BBC impartiality, quoted a former editor of the Sun and a former editor of the Telegraph. So I think we know where this is going.

In a functional party system, this kind of capitulation in the face of authoritarianism could mean the end of the Democratic Party.

In our system, it could mean the end of the two party system. Neither party can represent the pro-democracy majority. It's time for something new.

This worried me too, there were dark undertones to what he was saying too about the mood of the country having changed. If the mood of the country tallies with Mackenzie we are finished.
Why has BBC News Channel put former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie to react to the BBC Director General / BBC News boss resign?

Labour were broken a long time ago.

Time to replace them with a party that actually represents everyone - not just the billionaires.

A party that rejects Reform - rather than copies them.

Time to make hope normal again.

A vote for Labour is a vote for Farage. Labour voters need to drop their purity tests and unite behind the Greens to stop fascism

The reason why Labour don’t appeal to anybody is because they don’t do anything for anybody. That is a horrific look for any Government but for a Government elected on change it’s terminal.

The Scottish government provides every family with a newborn with a ‘baby box’ of essentials to help them get started.

@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social is bringing the boxes to NY.

Why can’t we have obviously good & nice things like this under a Labour government UK wide?

A letter from the age of truth. Bertrand Russell to Oswald Mosley. We need more of this in our public discourse. Call vile ideologies and the people who peddle them out for who and what they are.

This is why Not In Our Name exists - to show that most women believe inclusion, dignity, and respect go hand in hand.

In the language of the so called political experts of the country we are clearly now at the a vote for Labour is a wasted vote stage.

Reform can be stopped quite easily actually but it will involve a lot of really stubborn people switching to the greens.

Depends how much they want it I suppose.
