I was thinking a little today about how my parent's generation really seemed not just disinterested in their kids' survival but sort of hostile to it. Like I had been told that parents want their kids to thrive but in the older generation I largely found them fuming that we were even here at all.

a lot of them see no problem in spreading lies to influence policy against trans people and especially children, or to deny apartheid or genocide, so i doubt theyre going to see a problem in deciding not to publish incriminating evidence as part of their plot to get a fascist into power
I think there are a number of people employed at the New York Times -- certainly not all of them, but many! -- who simply do not grasp how badly the paper's credibility has been shaken over the past few years, along several different axes, and for multiple different reasons
