I simply think that when I kill an enemy in the game it should accept the death gracefully and not explode causing me damage

Demon Tides is out within an hour. Been poking around it early and while I've barely had time to scratch the surface (it's HUGE for an indie platformer), I've been really enjoying it.

It starts you off with all the core powers from Demon Turf, and you customize your move-set from there with unlocks

As I go through my Sailor Moon Rewatch, I'm struck by how a character's coolness is often tied to how good they are at video games. Simpler times.

it's very easy to succeed as an indie gamedev all you gotta do is get tens of thousands of followers, significant numbers of true fans, and then ship at least one game a year (preferably more)

Still SO many games coming out before the end of the month. Demon Tides tomorrow - a big open-world platformer, which I'm excited for!

My only reservation is that the developer might have been spread a bit thin between this and Bubsy 4D (next month!), which shares an engine but is more level-based.

You don’t need Disney-level resources and drawing skills to create animation.

People have made classics with sand and a source of light. With magazine clippings, or their own bodies animated via stop motion. There’s no barrier to entry, as we explore: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/sand-and-a...

AI filmmaking is completely unserious.

You've got people with $30k begging the internet for ideas by next week because they have nothing of their own to say, it's just slop for the sake of slop. Embarrassing state of affairs.

The AI bubble RAM crisis is caused for non-existent problems by non-existent money for a non-existent infrastructure to meet non-existent demand to make non-existent business and will utterly destroy real business based on real demand and real infrastructure built with real money for real problems.
I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.
