Art by Harold LeDoux from a long-running comic strip called Judge Parker.
None of LeDoux's work has ever been collected in book form and I feel a little sad about that.

I think I need to get offline more.

Honest to god, I just said to my boss, "It's only kaiju if they're from Japan. Otherwise, they're just sparkling giant monsters" and got such a look, like I'd starting speaking in tongues while snake handling.

Reading #RobertBloch’s PSYCHO for the first time. What an incredible novel. I’ve seen the movie, so no real surprises here, but I can’t stop thinking about how amazing it would’ve been to read it upon release, completely shocked by the twists and turns. It had to be jaw-dropping.

"We left (Epstein Island) with all of my children" really is one for the books.
VAN HOLLEN: Did you in fact make the visit to Epstein's private island?

LUTNICK: I did have lunch w/ him as I was on a boat going across on a family vacation. My wife was with me as were my 4 children and nannies. We had lunch on the island. That's true. For an hour. We left with all of my children

See below for a fantastic short story from the inimitable @coyhall.bsky.social. The level of world-building and characterization in a 25-page story is incredible (yet, as a fan of Coy’s writing, not surprising; he’s one of the best to do it).

It will never not be funny to me that I'm going to be paid thousands of dollars by Anthrop\c because they let their AI read my books laying out the roadmap of how AI kills us all on its ascent to become God. Like, of course they did.

Your point reminds me of a very astute Twitter thread about shame, by David Rees (of Get Your War On fame), from early in Trump's first term. It's hard to find now, so I'm going to post the whole thing here.

THE LAST DANGEROUS VISIONS
Edited by Harlan Ellison

If nothing else, you'll want to read the intro. It's a 50-page memoir about Ellison's final days by J. Michael Straczynski. Powerful stuff.

Hey, all,

I know I've been pushing this hard this week, but I'd like as many people as possible to read this one. The positive response has been overwhelming!

Thanks to the RHP and Stone's Throw crew for making this story their choice for the month (and helping me make it kick ass).
THIS MONTH ON STONE'S THROW: Photographers say the camera helps distance them from their subjects. But sometimes it brings them even closer. Read @fugitivecourier.bsky.social's great story today: bit.ly/45EN7mS

"Their success has raised questions about the strength of the government’s evidence and strategy in prosecuting these cases."
Do journalists weep when they have to type sentences like that?
