Does anyone, by chance, have a copy of this article??

"Blazing new trails: Adventure therapy for adolescents with eating disorders" J Kaptian - American Journal of Recreation Therapy, 2003

I can't find it anywhere, even on the journal website.

This week, the Global Sumud Flotilla tried to deliver life-saving aid to Gaza.

Instead, 461 people—including New Yorkers—have been detained by the Israeli military.

They must be freed at once. And the deliberate starvation of Palestinians must end now.

I think there’s a big difference between “all hope is lost” and “I have lost hope” and in climate it is really important to distinguish between the two. My personal feelings, your personal feelings are not the limits of our collective politics.

My coping mechanism for dealing with the nonstop deluge of horrors is just putting more cute community building/educational shit into the world. The more horrific shit they shovel onto us the more cute shit they're going to get out of me. I have to recommend this as a coping mechanism.

A friend and I made a text bot (non-AI) that tells you cool nature facts about the SF Bay Area. I want to find a micro-grant to help fund the texts and also print stickers w/ the number and cute nature illustrations to promote it. Anyone know of a grant/fund that might be a fit? #scicomm

I had the opportunity to talk with @gregsoden.bsky.social about some of my work in religion and diet/body size, and how we're seeing language of religious shame return in force to diet products in the current return to "thin is in".
Episode 327 of Classical Ideas features Dr. Rebecca Wolfe discussing dieting and religious shame!

A very sweet story from my city ❤️
Willie Brown Middle School is a San Francisco 6-8 in the Bayview District. For the entire ‘24-‘25 school year, I have been driving the 44 O’Shaughnessy bus that stops there right after school gets out. That trip has been the busiest and most challenging part of my working day.

You do not have to accept repeat Covid infections as inevitable.

Mitigations work. Layers work best.

Get your booster. Clean & ventilate the air. Test and stay home when sick.

Perhaps most important of all, wear a well fitted N95.

It protects you & those around you. Community care can save us!

Research friends—
What methodologies do you recommend for analyzing qualitative data from small group (<10 people) conversations/deliberations?

Maybe things from focus groups or…?

Appreciate any ideas!
