don't think i've plugged #gomiasto in a while, not on here anyway. it's A FUN GAME where you have to guess a place based on distance and direction. there's a uk version, as well as usa, and manchester metrolink, which is far too difficult to be fun. rlychrisg.github.io/GoMiasto/
dunno why but i'm in a really good mood tonight.

if wes streeting replaces starmer he's going to sell our brains (literally our brains) to peter thiel who will just say "wtf i can't do anything with this, it doesn't work like that, you can't leave those brains here you fucking weirdo" and i don't like the guy but he's got a point.

i love btrfs, it's a copy on write file system which makes for easier snapshot creation, or something, idk. alls i know is 2 clicks and a reboot makes my computer run like it did this morning before an update.

and i'm thinking, what if we installed a country to a btrfs partition?

wtf are labour going to do when prime minister streeting definitely loses his seat in 2029? i'm starting to think the labour right know there is no chance of labour winning and just want to destroy the country as much as possible while they can.

i feel like boris johnson is still PM.

Labour's permanent ban on puberty blockers for trans children is costing lives. It has nothing to do with "protecting children". They cannot claim to care about children's welfare while supporting a ban which has been shown, repeatedly, to cause them more harm.

If BBC News was a hotbed of left-wing wokery producing *systemically* biased coverage Jeremy Corbyn may well have been elected Prime Minister in 2019.

It’s not. He wasn’t.

And we got Boris Johnson instead.

Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)

DWP do make it clear in their statistical bulletin that the composition of UC claimants is changing through managed migration, but it would be helpful if they also published charts of people claiming UC or equivalent legacy benefits! bsky.app/profile/loui...
Of course, researchers try to make sense of this by collating lots of different DWP data releases...

But we shouldn't expect journalists to do this every month. Until DWP publish their data more clearly, we shouldn't be surprised if misleading and unforgiving headlines keep coming.

The full scandal of Maitlis, Barnes & Cohen at newsnight is gobsmacking. Theyre responsible for so much harm. Details, including multiple articles of proof, here: bsky.app/profile/mimm...
Emily Maitlis brags about her, Deb Cohen, and Hannah Barnes getting the Tavistock GIDS service shut down.

What she doesn't talk about is how Newsnight journalists manufactured outrage and concocted "scandals" based on unethical journalism - which they were called out for, but tried to hide...

It's honestly revolting how she is so celebrated by liberals just for... asking a pedophile some difficult questions. Fuck her, she is no better than the rest of them.

i think the bbc is in a similar situation to the labour party. i don't want it to die, but i don't really give a shit, choices within the organisation put it on the death spiral it's reaching the end of, not the criticism from people with 200 followers on bluesky.

For years, I’ve known that Maitlis was a key player in the institutional and orchestrated attacks on Trans+ youth

Now, emboldened and clearly unrepentant, she's flaunting her complicity

The world can now see her for who she is - someone willing to weaponise their power against the vulnerable

"Are there even any-" it doesn't matter. Banning the few trans athletes isn't the point. The point, from Trump's ban on trans people in government to Britain's bathroom ban to Newsom's sports ban, is to make sure everyone knows trans women are OTHER and to act accordingly to us in their daily lives.

i think the bbc is beyond saving and even though i thought it could and should be saved for a long time, if i'm honest, the reason for that was just because it would be great for far right lore if it were their attacks that killed it.

and that's what's going to happen.
