A very short update
I have been quite immersed in the novel draft since end of August and it's a bit of a surprise to look up and realise that we are already in November. That's almost three months of non-stop writing at varying speeds and wordages, but I am happy to say that I am heading over the halfway mark as I hope to achieve 65k sometime within the next few days.

HOLY SHIT. They found the genes for fibromyalgia - and it's *not* autoimmune, it's the central nervous system. It's very cool to see some progress made on the thing that's ruined my life since late teenage years!
Medical Republic: 'Fibromyalgia finally gets a genetic fingerprint'

'Additionally, certain risk loci overlapped with long covid (BPTF) and ME/CFS (OLFM4, RABGAP1L/GPR52), two poorly characterised disorders, albeit with different lead variants.'

So saddened by the news that we have lost Alice Wong. It was an honor to know her and learn from her. May the lessons she shared continue to guide us for years to come.

I have been basically quite lazy this weekend, so have not made any words. 😅 I did do some thinking on the project and I think I now have an angle from which to proceed. Fingers crossed. #thewip

It's Transgender Awareness Week, and I am asking you to be aware of nonbinary trans people.

Many of us are, famously, very hot.

However, please be aware that some of us are just weird little (or big, in my case) guys (non-gendered).

We exist.

Outlaw all "top richest people" charts and introduce "World's Top Taxpayers", "Largest Contributions To Society", etc. lists to Forbes. Problem will sort itself out.

Had a lovely day in Amsterdam. First at the VU’s Co-Creation lab for Duduzile Ndlovu’s poetry workshop and then later at the Solidarity Voku. The food was wonderful and the conversations filling. Going home feeling fed and inspired. We keep doing the work. 😊

Looking through the current wip, I noticed how some of my sentence work is convoluted. I realised it was me trying to remember words for things. This month, I celebrate one year since my last chemotherapy. I’ve been in remission for almost a year. It feels like a milestone. #fuckcancer

I feel like we should be talking more about how healthy economies are when people and the most vulnerable among us thrive. Spending more and subsidizing big industry and exploitative mining are not the way to go. youtu.be/Rhcrbcg8HBw?...
