I watched 'The Last Sacrifice' last night; it falls between the two stools of 'true crime tale' and 'sociological overview', but it's definitely worth a watch - especially if you're our @generalwitch.bsky.social listner... youtu.be/rcfAuUjibAk?...

BBC Archive just uploaded The Lonely Shore (1962), a surreal 15-minute short that takes the form of a scientific report from an abandoned and desolate future Britain. Written by Jacquetta Hawkes, an actual archaeologist, and directed by Ken Russell, an actual madman.

In TV's London tonight to see Suede at the Royal Festival Hall, and the view from the bar is lush as always, unfortunately had to wade through a disturbing amount of Flag Shaggers to get here

ironically the education for its own sake, Enlightenment-coded, Great Books-ass liberal arts degree is one of the better employment bets you can make. learn how to read, write, think critically, develop curiosity so you can pick up new skills quickly, etc etc
"Among college graduates ages 22 to 27, computer science and computer engineering majors are facing some of the highest unemployment rates, 6.1% and 7.5% respectively ...

That is more than double the unemployment rate among recent biology and art history graduates, which is just 3%"

First look at ‘RABBIT TRAP’ starring Dev Patel and Rosy McEwen. 📷

It follows married musicians Daphne and Darcy, who leave London for a remote Welsh cottage to finish their album but when they accidentally record a mystical sound never heard before, reality starts to unravel.
