History and Article IV’s Guarantee Clause makes clear that a state’s governor cannot remove members of the legislature. No governor has ever claimed such power. It runs against the full history of Texas and American democracy as a whole.

For ICE, US activists need to look back to the Panthers. Form a response team. Have a team lead that is an attorney or with a law degree to talk with ICE on the scene. The rest of the team should wear masks like ICE, be armed to the teeth and stand behind the speaker. Make illegal arrests have risk.
