It’s not really coherent, he just rants about pain killers and implies ibuprofen is ineffective and/or unnecessary then goes on about fat phobia and concludes with no one cared about food and drugs and what we’re giving to kids before MAHA, which is just false.

My mom taught 3rd and later 1st grade and I can remember her thinking whole language was nonsense but having to teach it. She’d also teach phonics because that’s how you learn to read. 😭 I typically respect academics but people who don’t actually teach kids in a classroom need to stfu about

Volume 1 complete. It’s not too difficult to read. I’d give it a try If you’ve finished the GENKI series or maybe even toward the end of book 2. It’s very punny so I’m sure there were a lot of jokes I missed. I’ll have to reread the series in a year or two when I’ve improved a bit! 😅

So I was doing some kanji practice and learned the kanji for claw, also nail, talon, hoof, hook, etc. 爪 (つめ) and thought oh hey, I think I can write a haiku with this. So I did and I accidentally made a sad haiku. 😅

This book is very fun and if your Japanese is upper beginner to intermediate you should check out this series. There are also non-scary editions of stories about mysterious footprints or Hanako-san are too much for you.

I was just emotionally devastated by this children’s story about a cow that is slowly poisoned by a villager’s wife (yeah…there’s just a small amount of misogyny) who hates animals. Anyway, the cow’s footprints haunt a grave stone and then it just ends abruptly. WTH story?!
