Sephiroth has no legs.

3. These kind of "impact" awards primarily exist to create a comfortable bubble to stuff games in for usually overwhelmingly homogeneously white/anglophone judges that have no idea about any of the narratives or identities in games that were popular enough that they have to be considered somehow.

I know it's difficult to be creative when we're just trying to survive. But it does matter. Whether you make things professionally or as a hobby or even if you make something that you never show to anybody. It's good for the human soul to create.
Also, congratulations everyone who made something this year. A comic, a song, a film, a novel, a painting, a poem, a short story, a sculpture, crochet, embroidery, whatever it is. In this era of slop and theft, if you *make* something you are a shining jewel and I am so grateful for you.
