The thing is that the train station doesn’t need to be in the middle of nowhere. It could be, should be, a hub with plentiful, housing, business, etc., around it. But decades of inept planning, and road building has orphaned it. 1/

I wonder if @mayormarksutcliffe.bsky.social has any New Year resolutions

If not, may I suggest fewer lies/spin and more accountability.

Remember the million trees you promised to plant 3 years ago Mark? How's that going? 🤡

Heading home after holiday trips to both Calgary and Toronto

It's interesting being someone who walks, bikes and occasionally takes transit.

Calgary isn't good. Toronto is better than it was. I'm coming home appreciating Ottawa and also hatibg parts of it.

Would big man Tim Tierney who likes to throw traffic cones around walk through the convoy downtown? No.

It was Catherine McKenney. They also know the lived difference between what is actual safety (empathy, funding, housing etc etc) and what suburbanites experience as “feeling unsafe” ie seeing

#ottbike I urge you to write to the PM and local councillor regarding this project : ottawa.ca/en/city-hall...

Bike lanes were completely removed from the project with a total disregard to cyclist's safety. I don't except the local councillor with a DUI to be much help.

Twenty-five years after Ottawa's amalgamation, still the same fantasy.

Nepean was debt-free largely because it could offload expensive infrastructure to the regional government and expensive social services to the smaller central City of Ottawa. Not its inherent virtue.
