I do not regret to inform you that we are going to win

Lots of countries could produce a Donald Trump. Very few other than the US could produce a Zohran Mamdani. This is why we’ll win

Diversity is only a weakness because of dipshits like Cuomo using it as a cudgel to pit people against each other instead of fighting the real enemy
On MSNBC Cuomo said "diversity can be a weakness." When asked by one of the two Black hosts (Eugene) to clarify, he doubled down on his statement and called Eugene "Jonathan."

So Cuomo is anti-diversity & can't tell Black people apart.🤔

Honestly the best anti-Cuomo ads are just letting Cuomo speak

If someone uses Chat GPT to plan their trip they should have their passport revoked
“The elevation, the climatic changes and accessibility [of the] paths have to be planned. When you [use] a program [like ChatGPT], which combines pictures and names to create a fantasy, then you can find yourself at an altitude of 4,000m without oxygen and [phone] signal."
The perils of letting AI plan your next trip
An imagined town in Peru, an Eiffel tower in Beijing: travellers are increasingly using tools like ChatGPT for itinerary ideas – and being sent to destinations that don't exist.

One thing that will ease the darkness for me is knowing that no matter how much power or wealth these people obtain, they will always be incapable of happiness and will spend their entire lives miserable, angry, and afraid

A lot of the Trump regime-Nazi Germany comparisons don’t really work by ICE as the SS and/or Gestapo is incredibly apt
This is evil.
Shelters that house unaccompanied minors are bracing for "Freaky Friday," the start of an ICE operation that will first issue letters to children, seeking to pressure them to return to the countries they've fled in exchange for a cash payment. If they decline, their parents will be targeted by ICE.

OpenAI employees are very excited about how well their new AI tool can create fake videos of people doing crimes and have definitely thought through all the implications of this

This is a great thread. Only thing I’d add is that Egypt thought that their cotton exports could be used to build up a state to compete with European imperial powers and took out huge loans based on future cotton exports./1
US farmers are saying they "just need temporary help, until things get better."

Here's the thing. US farm exports- which are mostly soy- CANNOT get better.

Other countries expanded their soy industries to fill China's demand.

We've walled ourselves out of the global market, folks. This is it.

One should really read Dave Cullen’s book “Columbine.” A difficult read due to the subject matter, but the definitive word on the subject
almost everything initially believed about Columbine was a myth; the shooters were bullies, not bullied.
I remember having to distance myself from a couple of people after Columbine when it became clear the schools were going to start persecuting the most antisocial weirdos, which absolutely did happen unfortunately

100 times this. A wounded animal can be very dangerous but it’s still wounded and nowhere near the peak of its strength
Don’t get me wrong, shit’s fucking scary—but this last week’s worth of absurd headlines and wonky ass shit coming out of the WH really convinces me that they’re are flailing around and grasping at straws that are getting harder to pick up

The window for resistance is still open, folks

One Battle After Another 2025
Dir. Paul Thomas Anderson
i love this part and i think it very much shows the difference in depth of thinking between someone like Klein, desperately fighting in the here-and-now and arguing to win a battle with compromise, versus Coates' position that he is a soldier in a long war.

This is EXCELLENT.

1) this is spot-on analysis of the problem & a great immediate 1st thing a city can do to improve outcome.

2) as a 2 min clip? He's giving history, hope & change. Speaking to women, to Jewish & Black NYers, saying "abortion." & also naming eugenics in feminism. 100/10 no notes.
Cuomo could never.

I guess Shaun King is ready to try his hand in the majors of grifting.
Shaun King's been really slow to realize that there's more grift on the right than the left, but kudos to him for finally getting there, I guess.
Now that’s what I call a pivot
