Tackling violence against women and girls is not a background issue, it’s a foreground issue.

I speak to @theindependent.bsky.social about my disappointment that the PM failed to prioritise the fight or highlight the pledge to halve VAWG.

Got an email to renew my membership to the European Society of Criminology. As much as I’ve enjoyed #ESC conferences in the past, I’ll give it a pass this year. Seems weird that 1/6 of fees go to the Executive Secretariat, a seemingly permanent role held by the same person/s in perpetuity.

No idea. I do not think any of the elected members are paid. The Swiss company register lists five people managing the "association europeenne de criminologie", two of whom seem to be related. Sounds a bit like FIFA.
