I have never been a huge Bond fan, but never once have I watched a Bond movie and thought “wait, I need to understand this man’s complex and intricate backstory.”
I blame the Star Wars prequels for giving filmmakers the idea that audiences need every bit of “continuity” explained to them

What if they did something completely ridiculous, like indicate that a spy as part of a spy organization might possibly be assigned a stock cover identity and name when they join?
They could get really wild with it if it was part of a franchise which is specifically known for its different actors.

Back when I used to coach face punching, I had a student preparing for a fight. During one sparring session he was absolutely dominating his partner for half a round, by ust spamming leg kicks over and over again.
Halfway through the round, he stopped, and promptly got knocked around the ring.

I'm glad to see my senators @warren.senate.gov and @markey.senate.gov holding the line. I'd love to see them YEET @schumer.senate.gov out of leadership somehow. I have no idea how that works, but Schumer apparently doesn't know how to lead anyone, so I'm sure someone can figure it out.

Took advantage of a variety of things to watch Fantastic Four, and yeah, that is easily the best thing Marvel has produced in years. And I say that as someone who never cared that much about the FF as comic franchise. It was pure comic book goodness in a way that Marvel hasn't managed in forever

A friend recently texted me the same thing. “Do you really not use ChatGPT?!” It was a sign of where we are culturally on this. People are compelled to use it but also starting to question the normalcy?
Recently met someone who was very surprised to hear I didn’t use ChatGPT or any LLM.
I said my job depended on doing distinctive work. That was my selling point. If I started to sound like ChatGPT and turn out what it did, then how on earth could I justify doing it? What would that make me?
