Hegseth’s only qualification for the job of Secretary of Defense was his TV punditry in support of war crimes. Of course he would do that. That’s why Trump hired him.
GOP Rep. Don Bacon: "I don't think Secretary Hegseth would be foolish enough to make this decision to say, 'Kill everybody. Kill the survivors,' because that's a clear violation of the law of war."

This is a MUST READ. It's terrifying and absolutely hits the mark.

I have been paralyzed into not responding to every mad missive from king Donny and his merry band of morons and syncophants. It's too much.

But that's the point, right?

The past decade has seen grave threats and unmistakable decline. But the past few days and weeks reveal that we have entered in a new and more perilous chapter here in the U.S. It must be a call to a new kind of action. My latest. open.substack.com/pub/davidrot...

Daniel Woodrell was, arguably, the greatest writer of his generation. Empathetic towards people, celebratory of traditions, but ruthless towards regressive systems and moral queasiness. We’ll be searching a long time before we find someone as keenly aware and talented as he was. RIP.

So sad to hear this. Just one of the best.

Before I was even published, just a fan at a con, I braced myself and dared to go up to him - to thank him for his work and tell him what an influence he was on me, even if we wrote about completely different worlds. Glad I did.

RIP, Daniel Woodrell.
