Wolverine, by Frank Quitely. Which succeeds in making a somewhat over-familiar - albeit still interesting - character seem fresh & fun & fascinating.

(Out this very month in 2001, X-Force #121, with its fine cover by Mike Allred starring, amongst others, the mighty Doop.)

And so to bed. Sleep well, gentle sentients of Planet Earth.

1988’s Eclipse Comics 10th Anniversary Poster, with art by Stan Woch, Mark Johnson & Tom Yeates.

There were a lot of good comics published by Eclipse in its day. I miss it.

A thoroughly enjoyable Ace Frehley poster from a 1979 Swedish pop/rock mag. Which it seemed entirely right to post.

Dave Cockrum was born today in 1943. His work at DC & Marvel in the 70s was SO exciting & helped reinvigorate 2 vital but moribund franchises, the Legion & the X-Men.

Oddly, the DC app only has the key wedding tale in Superboy & the LSH #200 in black’n’white. But the result is pure Cockrum artwork.

Whatever else might be said about Funko Pops, I’m glad I’ve got this take on The Spectre. The dead eyes suit the character perfectly. I’ve never seen another figure from the vast number produced by the company that I’ve liked, but this is a splendid exception to the rule.
