The far right is obsessed with Lord of the Rings and Musk keeps posting about "hobbits" because modern scientific racism owes more to fantasy worlds and gaming systems than genetic science, and they see both as effective mediums for right-wing propaganda www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

Loving today's news that the mysterious "fedora man" outside the Louvre heist was actually a 15-year-old museum visitor who dresses like a 1940s French detective all the time, just because. apnews.com/article/louv...
Fedora man unmasked: Meet the teen behind the Louvre mystery photo
Fifteen-year-old Pedro Elias Garzon Delvaux has become an internet sensation after an Associated Press photo captured him outside the Louvre on the day of a crown jewels heist.

If you're ever feeling lame, uncool, prosaic, or dull, simply get in your car and drive around while listening to the Unsolved Mysteries theme on repeat.

Instantly you become mysterious.
Captivating.
An enigma.
One of God's most feared mistakes.

@roguehobbies.bsky.social wanted to share my wrecka krew kill team, painted almost exclusively with your pro acryl line (except the Bright Jade, but that’s what happens when you let a six year old pick the colors of your models). Thanks for the great paints!

I mean, they blew him up? I think we know what happened to the chicken man. In Philly. Last night.
I don’t need a movie about Bruce Springsteen. I need a movie about what the hell happened to the chicken man.

These dudes are far from the best models I’ve ever painted. They’re not even my favorite models I’ve painted this year. But I will say, with certainty, they’re the Warhammer models that make me laugh the hardest when I see them.

This story is one of my favorite things I’ve ever written. It is also the story that took the heaviest toll on me. Months in this dudes head was an unlivable hell, and when he was finally exorcised, I swore never to revisit him. I’m honored Beau loved it as much as he did.
In the past I’ve stated all the stories in this anthology are now canon, although like Shawn’s story, I rolled @pauljgarth.bsky.social ‘s killer tale into Rider’s continuity after the fact. His story giving birth to one I wrote last year. If you get the chance, you should check out Paul’s story.

1. The wildest robbery I've ever written.
2. More rounds expended than a Peckinpah film.
3. Snarky sibling rivalry.
4. Tons of stuff done blown up gud.
5. Link in 🧵!

Hi. I wrote an essay about AI slop: How it feels like an invasive species for the internet. How its boosters describe building a future that’s devoid of craft. How frictionlessness can be nihilistic & how this stuff seems to leach part of our shared humanity out of the world. I hope you'll read it.

It is genuinely draining to be governed by the dumbest motherfuckers alive.
Some days, you're not even seeking out the news, but it finds you, and you just go UGH and feel all excitement about your day vanish. Thats discomfiting and we should recognize that!

I'm on the spectrum, according to RFK Jr, cause ya boi got that deep cut.
Besides linking Tylenol in pregnant women to autism, RFK Jr. now says circumcision is part of the reason why kids are autistic.

"Children who are circumcised early have double the rate of autism, and it's highly likely because they're given Tylenol. None of this is positive..."

TS isn’t even the best lyricist in her genre. Down-thread Carly Rae Jepsen is mentioned, which is a legit choice, never mind Lorde was dropping line on Royals *at 16 years old* that TS can’t touch.
I also need to know: I am fairly middle-of-the-road on Taylor Swift but someone I know called her the Greatest Living Lyricist. She is not.

Who is yours? Either the greatest or your favorite?

I've been talking to a lot of people the last few days, and, in case there's any doubt, I want to be clear: What Down and Out Books is doing is goddamn shameful, and staining an otherwise really incredible legacy.
Question: if your publisher sends out an email stating no more payments will be issued to their authors, do you think they’ve already spent the money they owe them or they’re just keeping it for themselves? Yes, this is about Down and Out Books.
