The immigrant shredder we built as a bipartisan exercise in good governance is unfortunately voice-activated, specifically the voice of anyone saying “don’t shred immigrants.” If non-immigrants don’t want to be shredded, they should avoid making the shredder feel bad. I won’t vote to turn it off btw

While the left might screech about dismantling the giant robot we’ve built to shred immigrants, I am both proud of the improvements my fellow centrists and I have made to its immigrant-shredding capabilities and secure in the knowledge that nobody will ever flip the big switch that lets it shred me

learned today that renee good had tried to move her family to canada after the election, and when that didn't work they moved to minneapolis because it was somewhere she could see as safe for a queer family.

i think that broke something inside me.

Every single local grade school in my city has community safety patrols to defend children & their parents against ICE. Most are founded by &/or partnered with school boards.

These are not extremist, violent positions. These are working people protecting their loved ones from the American gestapo.
what the fuck are we doing here, @cnn.com?

You should leave Substack in 2026, because they platform fascists regularly, but even before that I am *begging* you to stop referring to your writing as "my Substack" because why give them that agency. It's your writing, your posts, your words, on their platform.

…"Gen AI" is a bullshit engine, in the strict philosophical sense of the term.

All it *ever* does is statistically correlate what you ask it for and how you asked it with the words, phrases, connotations it's been trained on, using the weights and instructions in its programming.

This is the last straw for me, @mozilla.org.

If anyone has personal experience using LibreWolf or Vivaldi (top alternatives so far) lmk - especially if you use browser extensions and/or a VPN regularly.
Mozilla has a new CEO and he just announced that Firefox will evolve into a modern AI browser.
