4. He isn’t sorry. He means every racist thought he shares.
5. His base agrees with him.
6. He will do it again.

One lesson from the Epstein–Mandelson affair is that we need to stop routinely rehabilitating political careers after serious scandals.

When politicians knowingly engage in grave ethical wrongdoing, that should permanently end their political careers. Being "talented" should not override that.

“(This is how men behave.)”

It is not how men behave. It is how creeps behave. I swear to god, nobody is as eager to torch the reputation of men as men are.
Yale prof David Gelernter defends his letter urging Epstein to hire "v small goodlooking blonde" student by saying that he was "keep[ing] the potential boss's habits in mind."

This creep shouldn't be allowed anywhere near students.

Perhaps there is another venue that may love to host the symphony.
President Trump’s decision to close the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for two years starting this summer came with no notice to its largest tenant, the National Symphony Orchestra.
Trump's Kennedy Center closure shocks the National Symphony Orchestra
Washington's NSO has played at the Kennedy Center since 1971. It was not aware that the president planned to close the venue and finding a new home isn't easy.

While vetting the Epstein files, the FBI created a list of prominent names mentioned in the documents—and they noted which people had "salacious information" about them in the records. Trump was on the "salacious" list. Bill Clinton was not.

Friends, when the history of this sordid period of America is written — assuming it’s not written by historians trying to curry favor with a future fascist regime — I hope the leaders of American business are condemned to the hellfire they deserve for helping destroy American democracy.

The good news is that Trump threw up the bat signal for all the most amoral grifters to come forward and enrich themselves (JD Vance, Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson, every podcast bro who endorsed him, etc) so now we know exactly who to purge from polite society when this is over.
This country isn’t divided between Democrats and Republicans. It’s divided between wealthy people who think it’s fine to do whatever it takes to amass money and power—including sucking up to known pedophiles for access to the elite— and the rest of us suckers who are not amoral monsters.
