A lot of disappointment doing the rounds after last night, and understandably so. I had hoped Farrell would have started succession planning far earlier, but I do think it's worth noting how well Tommy O'Brien and Paddy McCarthy played for their second and first caps

I'll start by saying I thought he was grand.

But if Sam misses a kickable pen, puts on out on the full under no pressure, misses touch from a penalty in his 22, kicks a free kick up in the air deep into the 22 for a mark, and gives away a pen trying to beat a player with no support - CRUCIFIED

FIA clearly trying to manufacture a dramatic climax to the season by looking they other way so that Max stays in the hunt. Basically the opposite of last year when they penalised him for everything in the hope Norris would catch up

Less than a quarter of the electorate voted for the parties of our Taoiseach/Tánaiste combi, but I haven't seen endless attempts to analyze the deepest desires of the other 75% of the electorate and how the system could be improved to better represent them.

When the talking heads talk about the movement around spoiled votes, they need to be questioned, explicitly, about the racism on the spoiled ballots, asked if they condone it, and if that's who they are claiming to represent
A lot of the spoiled ballots I saw while tallying were very explicitly and forcibly racist. When the talking heads from Iona and Aontú say that FF and FG need to court their votes, that is who they are talking about.
The girls at the count centre were laughing at all your pathetic spoiled ballots, btw.

You know, if I was Taoiseach while more than 5,000 children are homeless, I might put my energy into something other than having a tantrum about the presidential election.

I might also consider the expense of a fix-my-tantrum-referendum and where that money might be better spent.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said the Oireachtas may have to look at changing the process by which a person gets on the ballot in presidential elections, which he described as "restrictive".

This was unique circumstances for spoiled vote: no anti-gov candidate anywhere on the right, loud online campaign, week of riots. It’s still going to end up with less than half the vote Peter Casey got as a similar protest. The “political earthquake” here is the thumping victory for the united left

You don't even need to #smearthebejaysus out of Ivan Yates. The true stuff about him is all awful. Get this feckin fraud off our airwaves
Yates praises Thatcher/Reagan for slashing welfare and promoting self-reliance. He's been taking public pension since he was 43. He'd taken €250,000 by 50. He still gets €75,000 pa, and will for life. Funded by citizens who work for fractions of that.

Yates nets €240,000 from pension before age of 50
FORMER Fine Gael minister Ivan Yates earned more than €240,000 in pension payments before the age of 50, the Irish Independent can reveal.
