The Laurel Peking Restaurant on Cheap Street in Newbury. Nice atmosphere, a flexible set menu (great for special occasions, you could pick a couple of favourite dishes and they'd choose the rest to go with them) and the best crispy chilli beef I've ever had.
Sunday night timeline cleanse

please tell me about your favorite lost restaurant (closed for at least 5 years, like I really want you to go back into the vault), why you loved it and what you ate there

I enjoyed this a lot. Proper hard sci-fi with a nice satirical edge, while also a proper well-constructed whodunit. Recommended!
Today’s the last episode of MURDER ON MARS! 14:15, BBC Radio 4. I hope you’ve enjoyed the ride and all the deaths/twists/jokes along the way. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

(And if you haven’t listened yet, binge now! It’s all on BBC Sounds. My first radio piece and I’m super proud of all involved.)

My first computer was a Spectrum. I loved typing in programs from magazines (and inevitably having to debug the mistakes I'd made in typing them in).

This is why it's important to have Arts/Humanities courses AND STEM courses. It all fits together, they compliment each other.

There's no such thing as useless education.

The truth: we need migration.

The problem: too many politicians are terrified to say it.

Why? They're led by a) toxicity of the charlatans & b) wealthy media organisations who demand these useful distractions rather than us talking about inequality.

Reject it. Draw the line.
