Yesterday’s game: Saxons clash with Vikings around the village of Edington. Ealdorman Aethelnoth set out to recapture the village but over-committed troops on one flank and lost the centre, leading to a Danish victory. Time to send in Alfred?

Someone told me lately "Bluesky is just like Twitter." I argued that was untrue on the basis that last time I had a Twitter account most times I got a new follower their bio said "single & looking for fun" & here when I get a new follower it tends to say something like "professor of rare moths".

'Tomorrow is Yesterday' is a great Star Trek episode, and I have to say this artwork of Captain John Christopher's F-104C 'Blue Jay 4' intercepting the Enterprise is fantastic!

I believe the artist is jetfreak-7.

Por fin una buena ilustración de unA noble Zhodani (con su turbante, que no falte) ❤️
Por cierto, que le tengo muchas ganas a este suplemento 😋
Thousands of years ago, driven by an Ancients device, the Zhodani started their expeditions to the Galactic Core.

Their efforts are the ultimate in deep space exploration and human ingenuity.

The Core Expeditions comes out in early March.

It’s the Government’s duty to protect all communities - including trans people.

They’re failing to do that.

Trans people deserve safety and dignity.

An episode thought crass and preachy in the ’90s has aged well for the worst reason:
Because this world is now so much worse.
Anti-racist
Anti-fascist
Anti-religious purity
Background of hate groups
After recent years?
No!
Too subtle!
Louder!

Fantastic to see my Mini Switzerland idea covered by the BBC.

It captures so many people’s imaginations because it’s both obvious, simple and yet - from where we are today - unspeakably radical.

'Mini Switzerland' plan for Peak District transport network
The idea would see buses arriving before trains pull into stations to improve connectivity.

Great proposal this. Continues to be incredibly funny and incredibly stupid that for years we've *banned* bus and rail operators "colluding" to make their timetables integrate with each other.

Something perhaps not mentioned enough about the digitised world is how much it encourages us to be more ruthless, untrusting people. I refuse to acquiesce to that. I refuse to change my default mode from thinking the best of people until they prove otherwise. I will not submit to the icy nastiness.

Technology wants us to think badly of our fellow humans. It wants us to be scared and it wants us to be isolated, and it wants to strip us of real world community. Because all of those things benefit the people making vast sums of money from technology.

Boring wargaming question - spray matt acrylic varnish - what works?

I've always been a paint on varnisher, but I've noticed my W&N Galeria Matt just seems... thinner(?) than it used to be. Making me consider spray anyway.

For reference, I do a gloss enamel first and Matt acrylic over that.
