Newline Designs 20mm Anglo-Sikh Wars
2 Sikh Regiments
1 British, 1 EIC Regiment.

Still really enjoying this project and this scale.

Boring wargaming question - spray matt acrylic varnish - what works?

I've always been a paint on varnisher, but I've noticed my W&N Galeria Matt just seems... thinner(?) than it used to be. Making me consider spray anyway.

For reference, I do a gloss enamel first and Matt acrylic over that.

More 20mm Newline Designs Sikh Wars units in various stages of finished-ness.

This is the first time I've painted 20mm, and I am really enjoying it. It feels like the benefits of both 28mm and 15mm (funny that!) Immediately considering what other periods I could do in this scale...

First unit of Anglo-Sikh War British Infantry - 20mm Newline Designs Miniatures.

Need to find a source of flags - I don't think they were that different from Napoleonic flags at this point?

Little bit of evening progress on 2026's surprise interest - The Sikh Wars.

20mm Newline Designs - really easy and enjoyable to paint, making me consider other of their ranges...

Couple of pics from the club's first Historical Games Day - quite a few last minute drop outs, but fun was still had by all.

Should be an event that recurs a few times a year now.

Considering trying a bit of Imaginations again - these are 3d prints in the style of Warlord's 'Epic' range.

Unfortunately I haven't designed a flag for the Grand Bishopric of Starigrad yet, so they can wave a pole about for a bit.

Not long now till the club's first Historical Games Day!

Here's the British for the Peninsular War skirmish I'm hosting.

Every time I paint some WSS miniatures, I really enjoy it - and then forget that immediately and go back to painting something more complicated and less fun!

You get all the bright colours of later uniforms, but much simpler and easier to paint.

Ebor miniatures, 28mm.

At the start of February, my local gaming club is having its first ever historical gaming day. As one of the organisers, I'm running a Napoleonic Peninsular skirmish game.

With not long to go, I've got some paint on the Spanish Guerrilla faction - plus some civilians (objective markers).

Medieval Turkic Cavalry - suitable for Mamalik / Ghulam etc from practically every state in Medieval Asia.

28mm 3D prints from Ten Kingdoms Miniatures - 60x60mm bases for flexibility in games I can play.

Quite big church, plus some WoTR.

Forced myself to get these painted as quick as possible. Simple highlights and an oil wash - drying time aside - took about 2.5 hrs

Current Medieval set-up. Big space for the big church (waiting for a new roof to arrive). Plus, most of my trees and fields are at the club. Not much to do otherwise though!

This church model has arrived - not quite as big as I'd thought, but it is a train model, not a wargames terrain piece. Needs painting, but will serve nicely for my later medieval projects
