Cowabunga! This was the first set I had the privilege of writing creative text for, and I’m so excited I can finally talk about it. So much fun to dip my toe back into the world of TMNT, and contributing to Magic: The Gathering has been a dream! 🍕🐢 #MTGxTMNT

In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

Everyone knows about Jupiter’s Great Red Spot (GRS)… but there should really be more talk about Saturn’s Giant Hexagon.

I miss writing cartoons, and I wonder when I’ll get that opportunity again and if I’ll forget how to use Final Draft by then.

I ain’t got time to watch all that.
Happy for you though.
Or sorry that happened.

I haven’t watched the recent seasons of Strange New Worlds, but here’s my Star Trek hot take:
I have no interest in Year One. Give me Year Five! How does their mission end? Why does Spock quit? How does Kirk commit the greatest unforced error in Starfleet history by giving the Enterprise to Decker?

Not to be back on my Star Wars shit, but it’s wild to me that The Force Awakens is 10 years old. It both seems like it came out last year and a lifetime ago. And I don’t care what anyone says about the sequel/Disney era, but the one-two-three punch of TFA+Rogue One+The Last Jedi was 😚🤌

You hear so many stories in entertainment of people in power taking away or intentionally killing projects because of money or ego, and so rarely hear stories of them genuinely supporting and celebrating up and coming talent when they don’t have to. Rob Reiner was a real one.
When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.

The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

The news about Rob Reiner has left me sadder than most celebrity deaths, but I can’t help but celebrate his extraordinary achievements as a filmmaker. I recently picked up the new Criterion release of This is Spinal Tap, but hadn’t made the time to watch it yet. Now I’m making it a priority. Genius.
The run that Rob Reiner went on between 1984 and 1992 is one of the most amazing hot streaks any director has ever had. Legendary stuff

Yes, support your local library because they have more great stuff than you realize.

But also, I miss 20/20 Video (in LA) and Kim’s Video Underground (in NY).
“I miss blockbuster video” the library has every dvd totally untouched and I never see you there

It’s beyond scary out there. It hurts everyone behind the scenes from top to bottom, and it’s bad for audiences.
so many cool, inventive and interesting animated projects none of you even knew were being made for the past few years just got shitcanned because of this netflix/wb merger

When you're like "geez there's no animation jobs" "geez there's like no new shows anymore", this is why

My current media criticism hot take is if an event occurs within the first 30 minutes of a movie or in the first episode of a TV series, it isn’t a “big twist” that is a forbidden spoiler to talk about, it is a foundational part of the story’s premise.

One of the things the TMNT franchise is great at is the multitude of interesting characters beyond just the ninja turtles, and I wish we got more series (comics and cartoons) about them.
More fizzled TMNT pitch sketches! RIP Alopex spin-off series 😢
