this was the stupidest fucking video. of course a daycare isn't going to open its door to two dudes screaming to see kids.

more to the point, there is already real journalism happening in MN, there have been deep dives on the fraud happening, and people are being prosecuted!
At one point, the two men in this video don’t identify themselves to daycare workers, demand to know where the children are, and then try to yank open the door as the female employees pull on it to keep them out.

when i first heard about “mutual aid” from a leftist pov, i was like “oh, so they’re trying to recreate the church support system, which is very effective, but whiteout a church”

i think it is good, and has place in society, but it’s not something to have as a central pillar in leftist policy.
Guys I know you’re all going to yell at me here but mutual aid is not meaningfully distinct from the kind of privatized community charity system where poor people go to the church and hope someone has donated a hot meal. It’s not progressive, it’s not effective, it’s not good service provision.
"poor enough to need mutual aid"

Everyone needs mutual aid.

At our church we, at the institutional level, have and distinguish between the values of service and active social justice. It is very hard for people even within the church distinguish between these two and really want to call every good community thing we do “social justice”
I know people hate Will Stancil, but this is simply objectively true.

The democratic socialist future is not piecemeal private mutual aid, it's sufficient taxation and spending to sustain the state capacity to bureaucratically ensure that no American goes hungry, homeless, or without health care.

the national design studio, is simply the propaganda outlet of the administration.

look no further than the work they have put out.

nothing they’ve done has made government services easier to access, more transparent, or elevated design aesthetics.
