My mom and both of my uncles raced competitively! One has knee problems, one is due for a replacement, one blew out his ACL in his 50s so bad they had to hook him up to the back of a chairlift to get him off the hill. All of them wouldn’t trade it for the world. Skiiers are kind of insane
I've never torn my ACL or gone downhill skiiing, and I don't think anyone gets to take any agency away from Lindsey Vonn. However, I have watched downhill skiing on television and it seems like you use your knees a lot.

Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:
End the roving patrols and racial profiling.
Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Pittsburgh only tanking for like a year and being back in playoff contention is frying me. Only well-run pro sports org from the Alleghenies to Toledo
One of the things that's kept Chicago out of the basement of the standings so far this season is sparkling penalty-kill goaltending (not to mention the sharp power-play finishing)

I'm worried that the broader public isn't really understanding the Epstein Files. The problem isn't that everyone in the files is a secret pedophile, it's that all the people are corresponding with him because they *don't care that he's a pedophile*. It's a story of elite impunity.
You can look at the Epstein files and conclude that only bad people have billions of dollars, but I think it’s also possible that having billions of dollars cauterizes your humanity

Had the pleasure of visiting the indigenous peoples of Utah exhibits at the Utah Museum of Natural History over the holiday. A lot of great work being done in the state at the U on and with indigenous peoples.
The Utah Historical Society just produced a new, excellent map of "The Peoples of North America in 1776." Great resource for anyone teaching, writing, presenting about Native peoples as part of their 250th work. america250.utah.gov/power-of-pla...
