Having worked at MULTIPLE global banks who have had to beg retirees to come work part time for more than FT salaries to deal with legacy COBOL issues, I’m terrified of what these little shits will do to our already brittle mainframe backbone.
I do not have a source specifically to confirm this, but I’m 100% confident that DOGE does not have a COBOL programmer, let alone someone who could remotely understand these systems.

What appears to be a wedding second line just went through my neighborhood at 10pm. Never would have happened in the days when real people actually lived here. They really have just handed the whole city over to tourism.

Many good excerpts but the key takeaway is 1) transphobia is consistently a very poor electoral strategy but 2) that won't stop conservatives from continuing to try it. Very convincing analysis.
