Yeah, the only reason we're hearing about this person is because they (might) be trans. The press is just bringing this up to try to tie trans people to something we had nothing to do with.
Have you *ever*, in all the thousands of shootings in America, heard a word about a friend, roommate or partner of a shooter?

man they really didn't give a shit about that guy. as soon as it was clear they couldn't use his death to launch a purge they started to treat it like a nothingburger
Q: My condolences on the loss of your friend Charlie Kirk. How are you holding up?

TRUMP: I think very good. And by the way, right there you see all the trucks. They just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they've been trying to get for about 150 years.

The simple fact of the world is that the vast majority of mass shooters fit a fairly basic profile: Cishet white men with right leaning but completely incomprehensible politics, bigoted in ways that don't super make sense and driven mostly by delusions of grandeur and petty slights.

The company is not only reintroducing new versions of old features that allow police to access footage from Ring users

Amazon is introducing a new Ring feature that will allow police to request *livestream* access to our home security devices.

this is interesting but not for the reason anti-bluesky people think because threads, having far more “active users” than bluesky, has half the cultural impact it does. does anything come from threads other than brand posts?
I dunno y'all. This site is 12 liberals who agree with each other about everything shouting at one another. Is there any reason to think it will evolve into anything different?

Yes, which is why it's insane that Dems are unable to capitalize on that.

Anybody with any self respect who had a boss treat them like this in public would resign immediately.
Reporter: What intelligence do you have that Iran is building a weapon? Your intelligence community said they have no evidence that they are at this point.

Trump: My intelligence community is wrong. Who said that?

Reporter: Your director of national intelligence Gabbard.

Trump: She is wrong.

One bright spot for trans people in Montana: Today's SCOTUS decision does not touch Montana. That's because Montana overturned its gender affirming care ban through the state Supreme Court. States are allowed to have protections that go beyond the US constitution, and thus that ruling is unaffected.

MASSIVE good news for trans people in the United States.

A federal judge has just granted class action status to transgender people looking to update their passports.

This means that very shorty, the window will open to update your passports with the correct gender marker.

FTC's latest move is to see how many trans kids they can kill. This is dangerous and beyond stupid, and way beyond anything the FTC is supposed to have authority over.

I'll never forget that Linda Tirado lost an eye and is dying from TBI-induced dementia caused by a cop shooting her in the face by a rubber bullet at the George Floyd protests.
protect your eyes, protect your head. "less lethal" munitions are lethal when fired directly at a human being and cops love to use them this way. pepperballs will take your eye out, a tear gas canister can fracture your skull.
cops will kill you on purpose and by accident, all with impunity.

So the people of Jacksonville did it themselves using flashlights and gels.

They opened the drawbridge to block them.

So they marched to a different bridge.

I wrote a bit about the misguided effort by Democrats to replicate Joe Rogan the right-wing podcast ecosystem.

Unironically they should buy up the domains for about 60 defunct local newspapers in swing states. Hire two reporters to write almost exclusively about highschool sports and new restaurants opening with every 10th article about how the local GOP is screwing over people.

motherfuckers, we have to pay for DRINKING WATER. but the AI bros don’t think they have to pay for intellectual property to build fancy shit-machines no one wants.
Their logic seems to be that copyrighted content is an essential input for AI, for which they should escape paying because AI is essential for our futures. But if they are right should we not simply expropriate the benefits of AI without paying for it?
