The 12 Days of Christmas “advent calendars” piss me off.
Advent marks the fourth Sunday before Christmas until, well, Christmas. Modern calendars go from Dec 1 to the 24th.
The twelve days refer to Dec 25 to Jan 6.
These are different timespans!

Not convinced Chuck wouldn’t find a way to ruin it
You know, it would be really funny if *it* happens this week, and just wipes the slate clean for Dems.

If that is how you feel, you are unsuited to deliver what the American a people and Democrats need in the second Trump administration.
Retire. Now.
Retire. Now.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

I’m so fucking angry about this. It WAS working. Trump’s popularity was plummeting.
And the Republican senators would have wanted to get home to their families for Thanksgiving every bit as much as the Dems.
I can’t prove they would have caved on ACA subsidies if Dems waited, but better than this!

This press conference of the traitor democrat caving sellouts is humiliating. They keep repeating "it wasn't gonna work". 1 or 2 more weeks of this shutdown and Republicans would come begging on their hands and knees. THEY OWN IT! THE COUNTRY IS FALLING APART! THEY NEED YOUR VOTES!

To be clear: D senators trusting R senators who promise a vote on ACA subsidies at some future point is nothing more that a liar convincing a sucker. A sucker for believing the lie, and for believing that Johnson will ever bring it up in the House.

Absolute loser. Resign.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis
For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare
We will keep fighting

Once they were in the shutdown though they could have made it about anything. Put clips of ICE abducting children on endless loop and say “do we keep funding a govt that does *that*?” Then you might get federal workers clamoring not for concessions but a strike.
Again, requires believing in things.

This was a doomed exercise from the outset. They picked a fight to give the GOP something they thought they would want anyway, and have now been embarrassed into capitulating on even that. Beyond pathetic.

they can't take that away from us. if anything, we did it to spite them. they were useless all year.

I’m furious about this because we have almost no choice but to support Cortez Masto and Rosen when they’re up.
Every single one of the others besides Shaheen and Durbin can, must, and will be primaried.
