Playing with the OM-1's live composite mode while using my fisheye lens. The thin clouds created a surreal effect.

I've removed the paywall permanently from this piece, which is a chapter from my novel Villager, told entirely in the form of an online village message board. If you like it, you'll probably like the book. If you don't, you won't... www.tom-cox.com/the-village-...
The Village Message Board
Its authenticity was discredited because of his reputation, but also because he was quick with gin at the time and wearing an item of knitwear back to front.

When I was a lad, growing up in Blighty, a 'slash' was called an 'oblique'. Let's have a show of hands for a return to that form. There would, of course, be a need to introduce 'reverse oblique' in place of 'backslash'.

If it's a choice between raspberries and blueberries, then blueberries are just the bridesmaids.

If it's a choice between raspberries, blueberries, and mince pies, then raspberries are on a sticky wicket. Especially if there's custard. Which there isn't, tonight.

I am interested in working with an artist on a graphic novel on soil and/ or global environmental change. The lab would have money to fund this.

Do you know of any graphic artists that would be interested?

As many of us begin Christmas meal prep, allow me to share the advice that my ER nurse sister puts in the chat every year:

A dropped knife has no handle. Jump away. Let it fall. You can pick it up and wash it.

IN VALEN'S NAME, USE ALT TEXT FOR YOUR IMAGES.

You want to prove you're down for progressive causes? Do the most basic fucking thing ever and use alt-text. Also, use it to describe the image and provide context so that the people who rely on alt-text can experience your image as intended.
