I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

My wife’s friend’s cousin just got picked up by ICE in Arizona. They’re Native American. Apparently ICE won’t have any information for the family on where they’re being held or their status or anything at all for 48 hours. Such unconscionable Nazi fucking bullshit.

I’ve started using the term “ethnic cleansing campaign” to describe the ICE occupation here in Minnesota. This is deliberate because the reality on the ground is that, at a given moment, any non-white person can be kidnapped by masked federal paramilitaries regardless of their constitutional rights.

With the threat of the Insurrection Act looming, I just want to note that it was never going to matter how peaceful and correct the protestors here are. All the "don't give him pretext" concern trolling misses the point: He will intentionally manufacture chaos and was always going to make an excuse.
