Unfortunately, AI is also praised for doing better on tasks that were *not* made for computer logic, like translation. Because most people think translation is simply replacing words. Translation means understanding a message and rewriting it in and adapting it to another language.
Generative AI is the apotheosis of this process. It's praised for doing better than a human on certain tasks, but those tasks were *made for computer logic* in the first place.

The new world will try to convince you that this computer logic is more valuable than your human thought. Defy it.

THEY PEPPER SPRAYED A BABY

Please read this entire excellent piece by Caroline, which points out that a judge ordered the Feds (again) to stop doing **this exact kind of thing** and they are still continuing to do it all over Chicago
Arianna Sofia Veraza and her parents were driving to Sam's Club for milk, eggs and diapers yesterday when they heard helicopters and horns blaring yesterday. They had turned around to leave when a federal agent pepper-sprayed them through a car window.

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

So cool! Prince *loved* libraries. For example, this is one donation he made from his charity a few days after 9/11 to save the Louisville Free Public Library, the first library in the community to serve African Americans.

To fight communism, America bombed Laos more heavily than any country ever in history. It lost. It took in the refugees who managed to make it out. Now it has changed its mind and is shipping them back. What kind of government does this

When millions of people are suffering and dying because they cannot access health care, it is a moral wrong. It's also going to have catastrophic intergenerational repercussions. So many of us already can't afford food, housing, and other basic needs and this is a recipe for disaster.

If a budget deal goes through without restoring Medicaid & ACA subsidies, they will never be restored.

That's a death sentence for millions of Americans but also to the entire republic and economy: Health care is a for-profit business generating TREMENDOUS economic activity & will grind to a halt.
