Proof, if we ever needed any, that the official death toll is a severe undercount. That is not even taking into account indirect deaths, typically ranging from 3 to 15 times the number of direct deaths (see www.thelancet.com/journals/lan... )

How? How do you double-check the accuracy, if you're not already an expert? Ask a different GenAI? Or do you, you know... Have to go and do the research you would have done anyway, pre-AI? Because I'm buggered if I can think of how you do that in a way where the GenAI saved you time.

That second pic above was taken several years ago, before someone turned the statuette forwards, hiding the little lamb. Odd thing to do. You can see from a museum photo, below, that the artist even shows the body of the lamb through the bag. Wonderful work. 🏺 2/

Felix Nussbaum, Self-Portrait in the Camp, 1940, 52.5 x 41.5 cm (Neue Galerie New York). A successful artist until the Nazis came to power, Nussbaum escaped from the notorious Saint-Cyprien camp in France, represented here. He was later arrested and sent to Auschwitz, where he died in 1944.
