We’re told rich people “contribute” more to society but this is only true when this contribution is defined in very narrow terms. Covid showed us this when, momentarily, we appreciated the poorly paid people doing shitty jobs. How quickly we’ve forgotten.
At some point we might realise this isn’t just about race, but about the biggest social problem we face: the belief that only rich people are worth anything, that the world must bend to their needs and wants and that the richer you are, the more important and valuable you are to the species
