I saw an academic unironically suggest that instead of assessing students’ understanding and competence through their writing of essays, arguments etc., we can assess the “quality” of their prompts, and I feel us slipping further and further into dystopia.

The coverage is similarly uncritical in certain Australian outlets. They'll emphasise Cass, ask why it's being "ignored" in the Australian context, but fail to mention reviews and practice guidelines published since, many of which aren't in agreement with Cass.
The nyt’s first story on the Cass report didn’t come out until the next day, when it portrayed the document, falsely, as part of a movement in Europe to restrict care. No such movement existed. France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria were taking positions in opposition to Cass and in line w doctors

the closest i've ever been to an honest to god marine todd situation was a college professor dropping a "you can have your caucus in a phone booth" on a vocal ron paul supporter in a lecture shortly before the 2008 primary. probably 200 kids in the room and it got a huge laugh
The internet actually thought Ron Paul was going to be president at one point which is a more damaging indictment of millennial culture than anything that I regularly see people use to own us
