This is good.
Why don't the people of the Twin Cities just stay home and let DHS do as it pleases? Speaking only for himself, Mike Somes explains that he personally does it because he is an idiot who does it because he failed to realize that all that talk about inalienable rights was an elaborate joke all along.
The Last Idiot Who Earnestly Believes in the American Experiment
Still left out of the joke, even now.

How have I never heard of this.
On Feb. 19, 1942, German soldiers marched through Winnipeg.
The mayor, premier and Lt. Governor were arrested, and the city was renamed Himmlerstadt. Books were burned, and the German flag flew across the city.
This is the story of Winnipeg's If Day.

Boy I really dislike when I'm looking at a website for a product and there's a little pop up asking me to subscribe for a discount. Just let me read in peace.

I did this. No big deal. If you're in your 40s it's a good idea.
p.s. if you are intimidated by colonoscopies you can ask about doing the non-invasive test where you collect your poo and send it in, my doctor mentioned that they are getting close to being as accurate (but in a colonoscopy they can laser off polyps then and there).

The one guy I knew who joined ice was back in 2004 and he had been rejected from every other fed gig.
The worst person you know from high school became a cop.

The worst person *that guy* knew joined CBP/ICE

Did I imagine this?

How come I can remember both who Thom Yorke is, and how to spell his name even though I do not especially like his music, but I cannot remember the name of the guys I play Mordheim with?

The fact that Karl's ban was only temporary is a real black mark on this site.
it's extremely funny (in a cosmic sense) how that guy was like "yes marchini & stancil need to fear for their lives, I am completely serious", just in general, but particularly given apparently that's not a bannable offense on bluesky dot app.

more permissive mod policy than kiwifarms on here

In solidarity with the discourse I'm changing my morning commute so that I no longer make left turns.

All this discourse is a classic example of anger driving engagement. Including myself in this.

This post could just as easily be about a certain breed of activist.
The thing you really truly have to understand about white American evangelicals is that their faith, such as it is, is more of a license to justify antisocial, selfish, or otherwise deleterious behavior than it is a moral or ethical code that limits what they otherwise would do.

Very nice and also sad. Orange boys are very good cats.
I've taken the paywall off this eulogy I wrote for my magical, mysterious ex-stray cat George - who died last year - in case anybody would like a read.

It was very, very hard to write but I think it might be my favourite thing I’ve ever written about cats.

Strong Democratic win.

Good way to win some elections too.
I think we should do a general amnesty granting citizenship to anyone currently in the US but I absolutely don't think we should tell normies that's what we're doing.

Very good. Credit where it is due for the Atlantic.
Last week in Minnesota, I watched ordinary people risk their lives to protect their neighbors. In the process, they not only won a significant—though not final—victory against authoritarianism, they proved virtually every MAGA social theory wrong. (gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
