When Covid caused NYC offices to hollow out what they found was that yeah the core business districts suffered but the neighborhoods where people actually live, thrived.

My computer sounds like a fighter jet warming up its engines when I boot into windows. Not updating, just booting. Things just crash. It is insane. Linux isn’t like this anymore. It is a bad day when anything crashes for me under KDE.

What is crazy is I am confident it that it mostly comes down to Windows rapidly declining as an OS. The baseline cpu workload of my laptop when it boots into windows is easily 30% higher on average than it is in a full linux desktop environment. Like she said, fans screaming, file explorer crashing.
dell laptop i got in 2022: fans screaming at max volume 24/7, file explorer crashes daily, battery dies if unplugged for longer than 20 minutes
mac laptop i got in 2022: works fine. a little slower than i remember when i'm running graphic-heavy projects in after effects
