So someone asked me to retell the story of the old lady that told me about killing her husband. Are we ready for a trip back in time to 1999? Some of you already know this story, but if you don't it is a wild ride. Apply all appropriate trigger warnings!

In the midst of all of the scary headlines recently, I thought I could take a moment to share a bit of good news: for the first time in history, a malaria vaccine with >90% efficacy seems to be within reach!

Here’s why that’s a really big deal for EVERYONE 🧵

PSA: it is REALLY easy to switch to protonmail! I had no idea it would be so easy to import stuff, and that it could even import old emails! It also set up auto forwarding so any emails sent to my old Google account are sent to it. Highly recommended switching over, it’s easier than you think

weird how all the transphobes ever wanted was more studies on gender medicine, more data, more evidence; and the moment they get power the first thing they do is go to every government department, every university, every private company, and say STOP STUDYING OR COLLECTING DATA ON GENDER MEDICINE

I know that it might seem insignificant in the scope of what we're all facing right now.

But divesting from Big Tech is one of the most important things we can be doing right now.

The less you solely rely on the business interests of the oligarchs, the less direct power they can exert over you.
And yet at some point, logging in went from direct access to giving Google, Facebook, and Twitter massive control over our digital lives.

Your Google account became your everything account, or maybe everything just became Google.

And now we have a hard time imagining our digital life without them.

This is what cities were like before automobiles were invented.

Retvrn
Charing Cross Road, pedestrianised today. Glorious. Because whenever you take cars away, cities get better.

My latest piece. Couldn't bring myself to write much today, but I wanted to get a few words out nonetheless.

TL;DR: the second best time to act against fascism is now.

1933 and 2025 will both be remembered as years of devastation for trans people worldwide — both of which were led by the onset of fascism.

Survey analysis finds people who don't watch women's sports, think they are less deserving of media attention than men's sports, and think women should prioritize being thin are more likely to oppose transgender women's inclusion in women's sports
Transgender athletes’ rights was opposed by those who viewed female athletes as undeserving, study finds
A recent study found opposition to transgender athletes' inclusion in sports was more common among those with weaker interest in supporting, promoting, and watching female athletes.

Just because you're in another country doesn't mean you won't lose access. Many online services are hosted or owned from the US, and if we don't take action our literary culture could be burned.
Okay, here’s the deal: RIGHT NOW is the time for concrete, direct action.

If you’re following me, it’s probably because you care about trans art and trans literature. The article below lays out my suggestions for dozens of concrete actions you can take to preemptively combat literary censorship.

Project 2025 wants to criminalize trans literature. Here’s a game plan for keeping our stories alive.

The way trans and disabled oppressions function are so similar, most particularly in the way our bodies are othered and de-gendered, and our voices are silenced regarding our own autonomy. At points they're indistinguishable except in how they compound each other.

Guys, I need you to understand right now that there's no such thing as "cis-passing trans" to the government. They have our records. They have my name change court order. They know who we are.
i was at the store today and i had a tiny panic attack because i saw some beer i wanted but it was kind of expensive but there was a tiny voice in my head that said "it's fine, go ahead and buy it. they're gonna kill you soon anyway." and i really hate this feeling for all of us.

Let me tell you this now, and be really clear on it - as a trans person and a Christian I see my transness as a gift from God, and my transition as a fundamental calling from God. When trans Christians die because of transphobia? As far as I'm concerned, that's martyrdom. There's no diminishing it.

Here's what's worked for me on social media:

When a trans person does something I dislike or disagree with, even if it's quite bad, I simply remember all of the cisgender people who've done things as bad or worse, and find one of them to complain about.
Stop doing friendly fire.
